So, you think social media has no merit, eh?

I meet a LOT of people who still poo-poo twitter, "I don't get it", they say. "It's too time consuming".  To those people, I say "HA!  Read this and tell me there's no benefit!"  

Here's why I love Twitter:  You talk... people (and businesses) listen... and the best ones RESPOND!   

I love shoes.  Shocker, I know.  My husband had gotten me a $50 gift certificate for DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) for Christmas, so I went shopping this past weekend to see what I could find.  I ended up with two pairs of flats and a pair of sneakers - way more than the $50 credit I had. WIN #1 for DSW.  When I arrived, I checked-in with foursquare.  Below is a perfect example of a business engaging me on twitter and using this as a customer service opportunity to reach out and keep me coming back for more.

Whatever offer they send me, I can guarantee you that I will end up spending more.  It will be a win for both parties thanks to Twitter. ~ Cynthia Smoot
